Is 1337x down?
No: all five official 1337x domains were online in our test of , each behind Cloudflare’s browser check. If 1337x refuses you, the likely cause is its own protection: since April 2026 it says it has been under a sustained attack and blocks IP addresses that send unusually many requests, sometimes catching normal users.
Searches for “1337x down” have risen fivefold in a year, to about 3,600 a month. Besides the attacks, the site lost servers in late September 2026 when missile strikes hit data centers in Kyiv, and came back on backup servers.
Official 1337x mirrors that work now
1337x lists five domains as its own on its status page, 1337x-status.org. All five answered in our test of . Anything else using the name is not run by 1337x.

1337x proxies, mirrors and lookalikes: what to avoid
“1337x proxy” alone gets about 74,000 searches a month, and “1337x unblocked”, “1337x mirror” and “1337x proxy list” add 22,000 more. The official mirrors already cover that need; the domains below are what else turns up.
One letter makes the difference
- x1337x.ws is official; 1337x.ws, without the x, sent us straight to an ad network.
- x1337x.eu is official; 1337x.eu is for sale.
- Check the first characters before you trust a domain.
Expired official domains
- 1337x.so was official until it expired in May 2024; 1337x says it no longer controls it.
- It now shows a script redirect page.
- Old bookmarks and proxy lists still send people there.
Copies and third-party proxies
- 13377x.com, 1337x.tw and 1337xto.to load sites styled as 1337x but are not on its list.
- Proxy domains in our test led to a bot check, a script redirect or a third-party proxy page.
- A proxy sees every search you make and can change the links it serves.
1337x banned my IP: why it happens and what to do
“1337x banned my IP”, “1337x ip banned” and “1337x access denied” barely existed as searches before April 2026, the month 1337x posted its attack notice.
What 1337x says
- The site is “experiencing a sustained, high-volume attack for weeks now”.
- It automatically blocks IP addresses that generate unusually many requests.
- It warns that this may block legitimate users by mistake, and its Tor address is switched off.
What usually triggers it
- Opening many pages or tabs in quick succession.
- Automated tools such as Prowlarr, Jackett or FlareSolverr polling the site.
- A shared IP, such as a campus, mobile carrier or VPN server, where others already sent many requests.
What to do
- Wait, then load one page at a time instead of many tabs at once.
- Slow down or pause any indexer that queries 1337x.
- Changing your IP can help, but a busy shared IP may be blocked too.

Google drops the site from its results after a DMCA complaint, and 1337x moves from .pl to .to.

Traffic grows after KickassTorrents shuts down, and the site is redesigned in October.

We tested the five official domains, the status page, the copies and proxies that rank for “1337x proxy”, old 1337x domains and lookalikes that differ by a letter or an ending. Of the 23:

- 6sent us to an ad network, a bot check or a script redirect, including the expired 1337x.so

1337x domain test of
Searches: Google Ads Keyword Planner, average monthly Google searches for the domain name, all locations, October 2025 to September 2026; “—” means we have no search figure for that exact domain. Result: one HTTPS request, then HTTP if that failed, from the US with redirects followed; we recorded the status code, redirect chain and page title. The official domains answer automated requests with Cloudflare’s check, which we did not bypass. Official means listed on 1337x-status.org. No links are given to these domains.

Your IP is public in the swarm
- 1337x lists torrents; the download runs over BitTorrent.
- Every peer in the same torrent sees your IP address, and rights holders watch popular swarms.

Ads and fake downloads
- 1337x itself runs ads; only donors get an ad-free site.
- On torrent sites, buttons offering a “direct” or “anonymous” download usually lead to ads, not the torrent.
- Cracked games and software are the usual malware carriers; never run an .exe that came with a film.
No official app
- 1337x’s status page lists only web domains and, when it runs, a Tor address.
- “1337x app” and “1337x apk” get about 2,000 searches a month; those apps are made by others.
- An APK can read far more of your phone than a browser tab can.
Is 1337x legal?
- No: most of what it lists is shared without the rights holders’ permission.
- The US government named it one of the most notorious pirate sites in 2024.
- Countries including Australia and Portugal have ordered providers to block it.

Our method
- Checked on by OwoZhero for NAT Checker.
- The official list is taken from 1337x-status.org; the other domains come from Google and Bing results for “1337x proxy”, old 1337x domains and one-letter lookalikes.
- A Cloudflare check counts as online for official domains, because the status page lists them and they answered; we did not bypass it.
- We did not log in, download any torrent or run any indexer. The test is repeated monthly.
