Buffstreams Alternatives and What Happened: buffstreams.plus Seized, What Opens Now (Checked November 8, 2026)
Buffstreams not working? buffstreams.plus and .app show a US seizure banner. What happened in the 2026 crackdown, which sites carry the name now, the alternatives other lists get wrong, and the app.
Quick Answer
As of November 8, 2026, buffstreams.plus, buffstreams.app and two backup domains show a US seizure banner; TorrentFreak reported the seizure in July 2026, during the World Cup crackdown. Of the 57 domains we tested, 13 open a sports page with the Buffstreams name or redirect to one, 12 are seized, script redirects or other sites, and 32 have no sports site. None can prove it is the original. Legal options and the alternatives other lists recommend, tested, are below.
- buffstreams.plus and .app
- Seized
- Open with the name or redirect there
- 13 of 57 domains
- Seized, script or other sites
- 12 domains
- No sports site
- 32 domains
Buffstreams not working? buffstreams.plus was seized
buffstreams.plus, the most searched Buffstreams address, now shows a US seizure banner, and so do buffstreams.app and two backup domains. TorrentFreak reported the seizure in July 2026, during the World Cup crackdown. Other sites carry the name in our latest test (), and two of them can be traced to older Buffstreams domains. None can prove it is the original.
Buffstreams new site: what opens after the seizure
These sites opened under the Buffstreams name in our test. The first two have a documented trail to an older Buffstreams domain: a fallback named by TorrentFreak, and a site that never went offline. A redirect or a shared server is a clue, not proof of who runs a site, so treat every “official” label as a claim.

mybuffstreams.plus
buffstreams.ir redirects here
First Google US result for “buffstreams”. buffstreams.ir is the fallback TorrentFreak traced to the same IP address as the seized buffstreams.plus.
- 2
buffsports.sk
buffsports.io and buffstreams.sx redirect here
Same title as buffsports.io, which stayed online through every seizure wave in Wayback copies from June 2025 to October 2026.
- 3
app.buffstreams.is
buffstreams.is redirects here
A sports page with its own design.
- 4

- 5
ibuffstreams.com
Shares the “ibuffstreams” name with a seized backup domain, on a different extension.
We tested from the US: we check that a page opens, we don’t play streams and we don’t measure ISP blocks. Seizures in 2025 and 2026 came in waves, so a site that opens today may show a banner next month.
Buffstreams alternatives: where to watch, and which listed sites are gone
The steady way to watch is the broadcaster that holds the rights. Rights change by season, so check the league’s own site for your game:
| Competition | United States | United Kingdom |
|---|---|---|
| NFL | CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and Prime Video; NFL+ on phones and tablets | NFL Game Pass on DAZN |
| NBA | ESPN/ABC, NBC and Peacock, Prime Video; NBA League Pass for out-of-market games | NBA League Pass |
| UFC | Paramount+, from 2026 | Check the UFC’s site for each event |
| Premier League | Peacock, NBC and USA Network | Sky Sports and TNT Sports |
The “sites like Buffstreams” other lists recommend, tested
The articles that rank for “Buffstreams alternatives” were written in 2025 or early 2026, and none mentions a seizure. We checked the sites they name on the same day as our Buffstreams test:

Searches: monthly average from Google Ads Keyword Planner, all locations, October 2025 to September 2026, for the domain’s own search (“buffstreams plus”, “buffsports io”…); a dash means no figure. Result: one HTTPS and then HTTP request from the US, following redirects; we recorded the response code, redirects and title. We don’t follow script redirects, pass bot checks or measure ISP blocks. No links to these sites.

Recommended VPNs for live sports: fewer pop-ups, your US sports apps anywhere
Free sports-stream sites live on pop-under ads and fake “update your player” prompts, and the legal US sports apps on this page only stream inside the US. Pick by need: Proton VPN Plus to filter ad, tracker and malware domains on every device, TV included, with ESPN+, Peacock, YouTube TV and Paramount+ listed as working on its paid plans; NordVPN to block unsafe domains, ads and trackers while connected, including on Android TV and Fire TV Stick.
What a VPN doesn’t do
Proton VPN Plus
- NetShield blocks ad, tracker and malware domains on the whole device, included in VPN Plus.
- Proton’s streaming guide lists ESPN+, Peacock, YouTube TV and Paramount+ (US servers) on all paid plans.
- Apps for Android TV and Apple TV, the Android TV app sideloads on Fire TV, and up to 10 devices per subscription.
2-year plan·$2.49/mo $9.99/mo
NordVPN
- Real-time protection blocks unsafe domains, ads and trackers while connected, on Android TV and Fire TV Stick too.
- On Windows and macOS, Next-gen antivirus scans downloads and quarantines a fake “player” installer.
- Up to 10 devices on one subscription.

Buffstreams app: is the one on Google Play real?
“buff streams app” grew from 880 searches in October 2025 to 9,900 in September 2026. The “Buffstreams” app on Google Play is published by Cotte Sablage, has 10K+ downloads, contains ads and was last updated on June 29, 2026. We found nothing that ties it to any Buffstreams site, and a Roku channel with the name is just as unverified. We didn’t install either.
An APK from outside a store can ask for permissions a browser tab never gets, and you can’t tell who signed it. A store listing only tells you who uploaded the app, not who runs the streams inside it.
Is Buffstreams safe and legal? Copies, pop-ups and seizures
One name, many sites
- 13 domains in our test open a Buffstreams-named sports page or redirect to one, with different designs.
- buffstreams.xyz and buffstreams.cc now lead to sites using the CrackStreams name.
- A word like “official” in a title proves nothing.
Seizure waves
- Four Buffstreams domains show a US seizure banner; backups were seized days after the main one.
- TorrentFreak found fallbacks on Iran’s .ir extension, set up years earlier.
- A domain you bookmark today may show a banner next month.
Pop-ups and ad redirects
- A Reddit thread on r/cybersecurity_help asks whether Buffstreams is safe with its automatic ad redirects; another on r/uBlockOrigin reports a site asking users to turn off ad blockers.
- Don’t install a player or extension for a game.
- A VPN with an ad and malware filter blocks many of these pop-ups: see the 2 VPNs we recommend.
Is Buffstreams legal?
- Its streams are shown without the broadcasters’ license.
- US seizures target the domains and operators; we found no case against viewers.
- In the UK, section 297 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act makes it an offence to dishonestly receive a broadcast to avoid paying for it.
