CrackStreams down? The original closed in December 2024
The CrackStreams most people remember went offline on December 30, 2024, after its owner wrote about “taking a break from live streaming” and warned about sites with similar names. Every site you find under the name today appeared after that, and none can be tied to the original. Two of Google’s top three results were not even working in our test: one showed a maintenance page, the other a suspension notice.

CrackStreams and MethStreams shared an owner and went dark on the same day, weeks after ACE took over a large group of sports domains. Front Office Sports found no proof that ACE was behind the closure, and its registrar said it took no action.

MethStreams today: methstreams.gs is the site Google ranks first for the name. It links to crackstreams.mx, and both carry the same message about a locked .ms domain, so these two look like one group. It does not prove a link to the owner who closed the sites in 2024.

Recommended VPNs for live sports: fewer pop-ups, your US sports apps anywhere
Free sports-stream sites live on pop-under ads and fake “update your player” prompts, and the legal sports apps below only stream inside the US. Pick by need: Proton VPN Plus to filter ad, tracker and malware domains on every device, TV included, with ESPN+, Peacock, YouTube TV and Paramount+ listed as working on its paid plans; NordVPN to block unsafe domains, ads and trackers while connected, including on Android TV and Fire TV Stick.
What a VPN doesn’t do
Proton VPN Plus
- NetShield blocks ad, tracker and malware domains on the whole device, included in VPN Plus.
- Proton’s streaming guide lists ESPN+, Peacock, YouTube TV and Paramount+ (US servers) on all paid plans.
- Apps for Android TV and Apple TV, the Android TV app sideloads on Fire TV, and up to 10 devices per subscription.
2-year plan
NordVPN
- Real-time protection blocks unsafe domains, ads and trackers while connected, on Android TV and Fire TV Stick too.
- On Windows and macOS, Next-gen antivirus scans downloads and quarantines a fake “player” installer.
- Up to 10 devices on one subscription.

CrackStreams app: what the store listings really are
“crackstreams app” gets about 1,000 searches a month, and the store apps with the name don’t do what most of those people expect. Neither brings games of its own:
| App | Where | What the listing says |
|---|---|---|
| CrackStreams - NFLStream | SOURCE RTQC LTD, on Google Play | 1K+ downloads; updated September 23, 2026. A media player for your own M3U or Xtream playlists: it brings no games of its own. |
| CrackStreams - Sports App | Neeraj Sharma, on the App Store | Says it “does not provide or host any media content” and asks you to add an IPTV playlist. Subscriptions from $4.99 to $39.99 on the Australian store. |
Is CrackStreams safe? Copies, pop-ups and the law
The owner’s own warning
- The 2024 closing message warned about sites with similar domain names.
- crackstreams.mx, crackstreams.st, crackstreams.io and pigwork.info all look different.
- A word like “official” in a title proves nothing.
Pop-ups and fake players
- crackstreams.mx and methstreams.gs include a pop-under script in their code.
- Don’t install a player or extension for a game.
- A VPN with an ad and malware filter blocks many of these pop-ups: see the 2 VPNs we recommend.
Paid apps with no games
- The App Store listing sells plans up to $39.99 and hosts no content.
- You would still need your own playlist.
- Read the listing before you subscribe.
Is CrackStreams legal?
- It linked to games streamed without the broadcasters’ license.
- Its old domains were transferred to ACE or seized.
- In July 2026 the US seized more than 1,000 domains that streamed the World Cup.
