Zoro.to and Zoro TV: 18 Anime Domains Tested on October 23, 2026

What happened to Zoro.to? Where “zoro tv”, “zoro to” and “zoroto” searches lead now, which Zoro domains load in our latest test, whether the Zoro To App is safe, and legal places to watch anime.

Quick Answer

Zoro.to closed in July 2023, renamed itself Aniwatch and then HiAnime, which shut down in March 2026. In our October 23, 2026 test of 18 Zoro domains, zoro.to did not respond, 7 domains load anime sites using the Zoro name, 1 offers a “Zoro To App” APK, 2 use the name for unrelated businesses and 8 are for sale, broken or offline. What happened to Zoro.to?

Zoro.to closed in July 2023. The site renamed itself Aniwatch, then HiAnime, and that last version shut down in March 2026. The original domain no longer answers. The “Zoro TV” and “Zoro to” sites that open today are run by other people; the list below shows which ones load.

Zoro was a free anime site with subs and dubs, and its name still draws about half a million site-related searches a month. Most of those people want the old site back. It is not coming back under that name: the team that ran it moved on twice, and Vietnamese police arrested people linked to the final version. What the searches reach now are other anime sites using the name, an APK page and a few unrelated businesses that happen to share it.

From Zoro.to to HiAnime, 2023–2026

    Zoro.to grows into one of the biggest pirate anime sites, with more than 200 million visits a month by mid-2023.

  2. July 2023

    Zoro.to drops its domain and reappears as Aniwatch.to; days later, zoro.to points to MPA/ACE “seized domain” nameservers and redirects to ACE’s anti-piracy page.

  3. September 2023

    ACE goes after Aniwatch, the Zoro successor.

  4. March 2024

    Aniwatch rebrands as HiAnime.

  5. March 2026

    HiAnime goes dark. Vietnamese police later arrest seven people linked to it.

We opened every Zoro domain from the search data above, plus Zoro’s two successor domains. Out of 18:

Who runs the Zoro TV sites

  • None of the seven sites names its operator or links itself to the team behind Zoro.to.
  • One shows a version number (V 4.2) next to the Zoro name.
  • If a copy asks you to create an account, use a password you use nowhere else.

The “Zoro To App”

  • Zoro.to was a website only; it never released an app.
  • The APK page offers builds for Android, iOS and PC and does not name a developer.
  • Installing it gives that developer whatever permissions you approve.

Ads and pop-ups

  • Free anime sites usually earn money from pop-unders and fake “download” buttons.
  • Never install a player, extension or “codec” a stream page offers.

Was Zoro legal?

  • No: it streamed anime without licenses, which is why ACE pursued it and its successors.
  • The sites using its name today stream without licenses too.

Method and sources

  • OwoZhero ran the test and wrote this guide for NAT Checker on .
  • The domain list combines the “zoro”, “zoro to” and “zoro tv” keyword sets in Similarweb, with character searches (One Piece, Pokémon’s Zoroark) filtered out.
  • For each domain we kept the final address after redirects and the page title, and read the page when the title was blank.
  • We did not install the APK, create accounts or measure blocks by individual providers. We re-run the table monthly and update the date when we do.
