No, 9anime is not back. The site rebranded as Aniwave in 2023, and Aniwave shut down in August 2024. The original 9anime.to now redirects to an ad network, and every site using the 9anime name today is a copy run by someone else.
“9anime” still draws about 6.7 million searches every 28 days, and “9anime alternatives”, “9anime reddit” and “9anime app” add tens of thousands more.
