MW4 & BO7 Bot Lobbies: How to Get Easier Lobbies Without Buying Them

SBMM can’t be switched off in Modern Warfare 4 or Black Ops 7, and bought bot lobbies count as boosting. How region and time change your lobbies, the best off-peak regions for your time zone, and the VPN setup for PC, PS5 and Xbox.

Quick Answer

There is no SBMM switch in MW4 or BO7, and paid bot lobbies count as boosting, so the XP and camos can be wiped. What works on your own account is queuing in a region at its off-peak hour, when fewer and weaker players are online. A VPN with a free choice of country lets you do that from about $2–3 a month. Your skill rating still travels with you, and ping rises with distance.

Nothing turns SBMM off in Modern Warfare 4 or Black Ops 7. MW4 launched on October 23, 2026 without the open playlist from its beta, so every public lobby is skill-matched. Paid “bot lobbies” count as boosting under Activision’s policy, and the camos you farm can be wiped with a reset or a ban.

The one way to get easier lobbies on your own account is to queue where fewer, weaker players are online: another region at its off-peak hour. A VPN is how you choose that region. It costs less than a bot-lobby subscription, and you never hand your login to a seller.

Check This Before You Switch Regions

  1. Note your normal in-game ping and the time it is in the region you want to play in.
  2. Run the NAT type test. With Strict NAT, invites and party chat fail on any region.
  3. Decide what you are farming. Easy public lobbies give normal XP and camo progress; ranked play does not get easier this way (see the FAQ).

What a “Bot Lobby” Means in Call of Duty

Players use the name for three different things. Only the first one is ordinary matchmaking.

TypeWhat it isXP and camosAccount risk
Easy public lobbiesNormal matchmaking that puts you with weaker or fewer players, usually in a quiet region or at a quiet hourFull XP and camo progressNone from the game itself
Private matches with AI botsA custom game you host and fill with AI botsVaries by title; check whether private matches count toward camosNone
Paid “bot lobbies”A seller hosts or plays a lobby full of low-skill or throwaway accounts so you can farm XP and camosFast while it lastsCounts as boosting under Activision’s policy; progress resets and bans are possible

Why Region and Time Change Your Lobbies

Activision says connection, meaning ping to the data center, is the top factor in Call of Duty matchmaking, followed by time to find a match. Skill is used, but Activision says it is not the dominant one. The matchmaker can only build your lobby from players who are online near the data center you connect to.

  • Fewer players online means a smaller pool. Because time to match ranks above skill, the matchmaker can widen the skill spread to fill lobbies quickly.
  • Your skill rating stays with your account. A VPN changes where you queue, not how the game rates you.

The trade-off is ping. Every extra hop adds latency, and a far region that is fully asleep can take long to fill. The sweet spot is a region a few hours ahead of or behind you, where it is the small hours.

How to get bot lobbies

Every Way to Get Easier CoD Lobbies, Compared

MethodCostYour accountWhere it works
VPN to a quieter regionAbout $2–3 a month on a long VPN planYou keep your login; the policy’s broad “spoofing” rule still appliesEvery mode with public matchmaking, any CoD title
Bot-lobby VPN app (e.g. BotLobbies)$5.59–$9.37 a monthSame as a normal VPN, plus add-ons that are not VPN featuresSame region switching, fewer countries
Buying bot lobbiesPaid per lobby or per weaponBoosting; often needs your login or a shared partyUntil the lobby is flagged
Reverse boosting (tanking K/D)FreeWastes hours and can be reportedA few matches, then SBMM catches up

A “bot lobby VPN” is a VPN with gaming branding. BotLobbies’ MW4 page sells it at $9.37 a month, or $5.59 a month on a yearly plan, and lists 32 regions. A regular VPN does the same region switch from about $2–3 a month on a long plan, with far more countries, and it also covers streaming, privacy and NAT.

Best Bot Lobby Regions for Your Time Zone

There is no permanent “bot lobby country”. What matters is which regions are in their small hours while you play. Times below are for November, after daylight saving ended in Europe and the US.

When you playRegions that are off-peak then
US East, 9 p.m. ETUK 2 a.m., Central Europe 3 a.m., South Africa 4 a.m., UAE 6 a.m.
US West, 9 p.m. PTUK 5 a.m., Central Europe 6 a.m., Japan 2 p.m. on a weekday
UK, 9 p.m. GMTJapan 6 a.m., Sydney 8 a.m., US West 1 p.m. on a weekday
Central Europe, 9 p.m. CETJapan 5 a.m., Sydney 7 a.m., US West noon on a weekday
Australia East, 9 p.m. AEDTUS West 2 a.m., US East 5 a.m., UK 10 a.m. on a weekday

Start with the closest off-peak region, because it adds the least ping. Weekday mornings in a region are quieter than weekends.

You need two things: the freedom to pick any country, and a NAT setting so party chat keeps working. A free plan that picks the server for you can’t switch regions, so it doesn’t help here.

Pick any region, keep Moderate NAT

Proton VPN

Choose the exact country or city for each session and switch in seconds. Moderate NAT keeps invites and party chat working on a far server, which most VPNs break.
  • Servers in 110+ countries on paid plans
  • Moderate NAT toggle on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS
  • Free plan picks the server for you, so no region choice

PureVPN

How to Get Bot Lobbies in MW4 and BO7 With a VPN

On PC

  1. Close Call of Duty and Battle.net or Steam completely.
  2. Connect the VPN to an off-peak region from the table above, using WireGuard.
  3. Turn on Moderate NAT (Proton) so invites still work.
  4. Launch the game and check ping in the network overlay.
  5. Play 5–10 matches, then compare with your home region before switching again.

On PS5 and Xbox

  1. Consoles can’t run VPN apps, so put the VPN on your router or share a PC’s VPN connection over Ethernet.
  2. Pick the region on the router, then restart the console.
  3. Check the NAT type in the console’s network settings.
  4. Play a few matches and watch the ping. Router setup: best VPN for routers.
Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy does not name VPNs, but its “spoofing” rule bans any attempt to hide your identity or your devices, and it penalises boosting and getting around security systems. Use a VPN to choose a region, never to dodge a ban or limited matchmaking.
Troubleshooting

Bot Lobby VPN Not Working?

Lobbies are still sweaty

Your skill rating travels with your account, so a new region only changes who is online. Try a region that is deeper into its night, play 5–10 matches before judging, and avoid weekends, when every region is busier.

Ping is too high to play

Activision weights connection above skill, so very far servers can give laggy or failed matches. Step back to a closer region, use WireGuard, and keep the added ping where you can still hit shots.

You land in your home region anyway

Fully close the game, connect the VPN first, then launch. On PC check that the game is not excluded by split tunneling. On console the VPN has to run on the router or a shared PC connection.

Party chat or invites break

Most VPN servers give Strict NAT. Turn on Proton’s Moderate NAT or use PureVPN port forwarding, then run the NAT test again. See the Call of Duty NAT type guide.

CoD Bot Lobbies FAQ

No. Your skill rating belongs to your account, and the matchmaker uses it in every region. A VPN only changes which data center and player pool you queue into. An off-peak region has fewer players, so lobbies can be easier, but they are still skill-matched.

Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy does not name VPNs, but its spoofing rule covers any attempt to hide your identity or devices, and getting around security systems can lead to a permanent ban. Using a VPN to pick a region is common, but it is not risk-free. Never use one to dodge a ban or limited matchmaking.
