qBittorrent Firewalled: incoming-connection checklist Prepared by NAT Checker. Source review: 2026-10-03. Guide: https://natchecker.com/blog/qbittorrent-connection-status-firewalled Before changing settings [ ] Run a well-seeded legal torrent with qBittorrent open. [ ] Record qBittorrent's incoming listening port: __________ [ ] Record the intended route: ISP / VPN / VPN container [ ] Verify the public IP of that route: __________ [ ] With a VPN, record the current active forwarded port: __________ [ ] Keep the Web UI management port separate and private. Check the actual path [ ] Compare the VPN forwarded port and qBittorrent listening port. [ ] Verify the listener uses the intended interface / namespace. [ ] Check the relevant host firewall rule and active network profile. [ ] Run an external TCP test against the correct public IP and port. [ ] Check the Peers tab for an incoming I flag during activity. After reconnecting [ ] Recheck the current VPN port lease, even if the number is unchanged. [ ] Update qBittorrent if the assigned port changed. [ ] For containers, verify the current shared VPN namespace. [ ] Repeat the incoming-connection check. Interpretation Working downloads/uploads establish some outbound connectivity. A green status means an incoming connection has been observed. A closed TCP test does not identify the blocking device or test UDP. Matching port numbers do not prove a working or active forwarding lease. Port forwarding cannot create seeds or guarantee download speed. Use a targeted app/port firewall rule; keep the firewall enabled.
